Favorite Abstract Artist Numero Tre: Annette Messager

Annette Messager is an artist from France who is not considered an abstract artist, yet one of my favorite works of hers seems to have an abstract way about it.  From 1988-1991, she developed “My Vows,” which consists of photographs of different parts of the body.  Messager then arranged them in a way where she hangs the photos from different heights to create a dense circular shape.  The result is an installation that I personally see as abstract, innovative, and beautiful.
